Grace morning on this fabulous Friday.
I recently read a story of a young man who had this very nice sports car. He picked up a classmate to carry him to his house. As they were driving to his house the classmate noticed that they drove the long way. They could have saved a few miles, but the young man went all the way around. The classmate asked him why didn't he go the easy way? He said, "My ex-girlfriend lives on this street, I always drive by to make sure she sees what she missed out on". The relationship had been over for more than 10 years, but still every chance he got he went out of his way to prove she was missing out, prove that he was successful, and proved that he was happy without her. What's funny is he found out later that she had moved across town a couple years earlier.
All that time he was driving by, proving his point, she wasn't even there. Wasted time and gasoline. Life is to short to be going out your way to prove to someone that you’re successful and they missed out. It might be no one is paying attention.
“I know that light is better than the dark. And I saw that it is better to be wise. To be a fool is worse.”
Ecclesiastes 2:13 EEB
Live, love, and laugh your way through this incredible and fantastic Friday!
