Dr. Jones is the 4 th of 8 children born to Mr. and Mrs. Russell Jones Jr. He is a native of Terrell, Texas, and attended Terrell Public Schools, where he graduated in 1980. He enrolled in Texas Tech University andgraduated in 1985 with a bachelor’s degree in social work.

In September 1985, he could no longer resist the call to preach the gospel. He served for 4 ½ years as an associate minister at the New Hope Baptist Church in Terrell under the leadership of the late Dr. B.H. Wyatt was faithful in service to the Lord.

In January 1990, God sent Pastor V.K. Jones to labor in the vineyard of

the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church of Garland,Texas. With a divine assignment that lasted 20 years and 11 months, God mightily blessed the Shiloh church and the ministry of Pastor Jones to reach people across the country.

In November 2010, God saw fit to move Pastor Jones to a new field of labor and sent him to Pastor the People’s Missionary Baptist Church in Bakersfield, California. In addition to being the Pastor of the People’s Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Jones continues to be known nationwide for his biblically based teaching on marriage and relationships. He blesses couples and brings glory to the Kingdom of God with his dynamic yet practical teachings to married couples.

Dr. Jones currently serves as the Vice-President of V&B Ministries. He

organized V&B Ministries jointly with Dr. B.L. Bell, Sr., of the New Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. He is a former teacher at the Frank Ray

Expository Teaching and Church Growth Conference, Memphis, TN, and WHW

Ministries of Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Jones has served as the Dean of the Congress Education for the California Missionary Baptist State Convention and is currently the Treasurer. He received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Faith Seminary in 2011 and was awarded the Volunteer Services Award by President Obama in 2012.

In October 2005, Dr. Jones earned his Doctor of Ministry Degree from

Faith Seminary in Tacoma, Washington.

Dr. Jones is the devoted husband of Donna Washington Jones for more than

30 years. They have two daughters, TaNequa and Shundria, and three grandchildren.
